Lily Lagoon Resort's Indigenous Hospitality Journey

Our new Lily Lagoon Resort Kununurra team members have had a fantastic time working with WA Food Ambassador, Don Hancey, and Activated Hospitality's Mark Attard, who have been on site in Kununurra to lead our new starters through a range of hospitality training units under grant funding issued from TourismWA.
The trainees are making fantastic in roads, as the management team of Aboriginal Hostels Limited can attest too after recently enjoying a delicious morning tea cooked up by the team.
A key component of Wunan’s strategy in acquiring Lily Lagoon Resort has been to provide a unique cultural experience which intersects with Aboriginal Tourism. Our vision remains for the resort to be the preeminent Indigenous Tourism Training Hub in the Kimberley and help transition trainees from welfare to employment, which we aim to do through initiatives like these.
A huge thank you to Don and Mark for all your incredible work in helping us increase the representation of Aboriginal people in the Tourism and Hospitality sector, and in turn, share our culture with our visitors from around the world.
